 This introductory training is delivered in 1-hour, 3-hour and 6-hour formats and features a thorough introduction to eAdvoacy strategy, including: websites, email, social media (e.g.Facebook/MySpace, YouTube, Twitter) and activist tools.  Several resource handouts along with the training PowerPoint handout are provided to attendees. Census and Administrative Data Analysis for Advocacy

This introductory training provides an in-depth guide to publicly available data sources for conducting research and public policy analysis.  The training is delivered in 2-hour and 3-hour formats with handouts and walk-throughs of data tools.  Over 20 data sets and tools are discussed including: U.S. Census, CA Department of Finance, Education Data, California Health Interview Survey, Local Government Budgets and Expenditures, Economic development and employment data.

Online Research: Tools and Techniques

This training is a 2-hour in-depth guide to cutting-edge tools and techniques in online research.  It has been offered to hundreds of  professional nonprofit researchers to universally rave reviews.  The training covers: search strategy, keyword and query development, an overview of online research tools, an explanation of how search engines work and why you should always use multiple ones, a guide to web directories,  specialized search engines, current-awareness tools and real-time search.
